(Non)Sporting Sartorial Style

Last weekend the most important event in the Chap's calendar, The Chap Olympiad, took place in London, and in this Olympic year the event took place over two days. Unfortunately I was only able to attend on the Saturday, but it was enough time to catch up with some familiar faces, enjoy the super stylish outfits on display and cheer on the (non) sporting activity.

For those of you unfamiliar with this event The Chap Olympics is a 'a celebration of eccentricity and athletic ineptitude with the emphasis on panache and style over sporting prowess'.  It is also always a great meeting of the who's who on the London vintage scene and a wonderful excuse to don an amazing outfit, stuff your face with sausage rolls and soak up the gin....and the rain.

Usually this is an event that I plan an outfit for well in advance, but on this occasion it was completely hopeless because of the ridicuously erractic weather we have been having. I picked out this dress in the morning and managed to wear it without changing my mind 10 times. I wore it with a smattering of accessories borrowed from Naomi who happened to be staying with us. Tweed Jacket: Ralph Lauren Rugby, Dress: 1950s Ronda Roy

Here is a small selection of some of the colourful sights of the day

  1. Oh me, oh my, how I dream of one day attending this spectacular event! You and your friends all look so wonderfully lovely and stylish. Many thanks for reminding me that I need to wear my (very) tiny blazer collection with my dresses more often. That look is so pretty and classic, yet I rarely remember to give it a go (must work on that the moment autumn arrives!).

  5. Now I am officially eaten up with envy, ha ha! Your fabulous hat and that jacket, the whole outfit, sigh, too gorgeous, you look amazing. Love Naomi's dress too, that's a really good photo of the two of you. Reminds me of an old travel poster.

  7. This looks like so much fun - and you look amazing - loving the hat/dress/jacket combo. Think I would be scared of going to something like this because I'm not vintage enough! xx
